How it works

Adipotide, also called FTPP or prohibitin-targeting peptide 1, is an experimental peptidomimetic designed to target blood vessels that supply white adipose tissue and trigger programmed cell death. It is not an appetite hormone and has no FDA-approved product, indication, or dose.

Benefits & side effects

A 2011 study in obese rhesus monkeys reported reduced weight and white-fat volume and improved insulin-resistance measures during treatment.[1] The same study found dose-related kidney proximal-tubule changes, including degeneration and regeneration; measured kidney-function changes reversed after treatment stopped.[1]

A registered first-in-human phase 1 study enrolled people with metastatic prostate cancer and obesity to assess tolerability and dose limits, not to establish routine obesity treatment.[2] Teloryx found no published controlled human efficacy trial supporting adipotide for weight loss.
