How it works

Cagrilintide is a long-acting amylin analogue being developed for chronic weight management, both alone and with semaglutide as CagriSema. It has a genuine late-stage clinical program, but an investigational ingredient is not interchangeable with an online “research” vial.

Benefits & side effects

In a 706-participant phase 2 trial, cagrilintide alone produced greater mean weight reduction than placebo at 26 weeks; gastrointestinal events and injection-site reactions were common.[1] In the 3,417-participant REDEFINE 1 phase 3 trial, cagrilintide 2.4 mg plus semaglutide 2.4 mg produced an estimated 20.4% mean weight reduction at 68 weeks versus 3.0% with placebo.[2] A separate phase 3 trial reported benefit in adults with overweight or obesity and type 2 diabetes.[3]

Combination results cannot be attributed entirely to cagrilintide, and trial products, titration, eligibility criteria, monitoring, and follow-up do not validate independently sold material.
