How it works

Cartalax is a synthetic tripeptide made from three amino acids — alanine, glutamic acid, and aspartic acid — commonly written as Ala-Glu-Asp or AED. PubChem lists it as alanyl-glutamyl-aspartic acid, with a molecular formula of C12H19N3O8 and a molecular weight of about 333 g/mol.[1] Like other peptide bioregulators, it is discussed mainly in connection with cartilage, connective tissue, and cellular-aging biology rather than as an approved therapeutic.

Benefits & side effects

There is no FDA-approved label for Cartalax and therefore no official adverse-reaction, warning, or contraindication data.[6][7] Concerns that generally apply to unapproved or poorly characterized peptides are relevant background but not Cartalax-specific findings:

  • Inconsistent potency and manufacturing impurities
  • Contamination risk in unregulated products
  • Unpredictable immune reactions

People who are pregnant or breastfeeding, have autoimmune disease or a cancer history, or take complex medication regimens should recognize that essentially no safety data exist for this compound in those populations.[9]
