How it works
PEG-MGF is a market name for a polyethylene-glycol-modified peptide related to the E-domain of an IGF-1 splice variant often called mechano growth factor. It is not the same thing as the IGF1 transcripts naturally measured in muscle, and there is no FDA-approved PEG-MGF product, formulation, indication, or dose.
Benefits & side effects
Human exercise studies have measured changes in endogenous IGF-1 splice-variant expression in muscle biopsies.[1] Those observations do not test an administered PEG-MGF product. Teloryx found no controlled human efficacy trial establishing PEG-MGF for muscle gain, recovery, healing, fat loss, or performance.
PEGylation can change a molecule's clearance and immune behavior. It does not prove that a vendor product has the intended structure, reaches muscle, reproduces local IGF-1 biology, or improves a clinical outcome.
