How it works
PNC-27 is a chimeric peptide containing a p53-derived HDM2-binding segment and a membrane-active leader sequence. It is an experimental laboratory compound, not an FDA-approved cancer drug or substitute for oncology care.
Benefits & side effects
Studies report that PNC-27 binds membrane-associated HDM2 and forms pores that lyse cultured cancer cells.[1] Related work has tested leukemia cell lines and mouse transplant models.[2] No human clinical trial establishes tumor response, survival, an effective dose, delivery to human tumors, or selectivity in patients.
